Acabion

Acabion is the designer and manufacturer of the Acabion GTBO concept car. Its Headquarter is in Lucerne, Switzerland. It primary officials are the Lucerne and New York based engineers Lenka Mikova (CEO) and Peter Maskus (CResO).

The Acabion concept car is a two-seat vehicle with a drop shaped body. The passenger is placed behind the driver. Power is provided by a hybrid drive system mounted behind the passenger compartment, incorporating a turbocharged 1.3-liter motor as well as a small electric motor for low speed (below 65 km/h (40 mph)) operations. Under normal conditions the Acabion concept drives on its two main wheels like a motorcycle, but at high speeds or if balance is lost at low speeds the two small side wheels are designed to lower themselves automatically to aid stability. A pendulum mounted behind the passenger’s seat also assists in holding the vehicle upright.

Due to its low curb weight and a powerful engine the Acabion concept projects a high power to weight ratio. Designers also claim that the Acabion’s aerodynamic shape will allow low fuel consumption even at high speeds.
