1900 Napier 9HP

Napier & Son was a British engine manufacturer and one of the most important aircraft engine manufacturers in the early to mid 20th Century.
Selwyn Francis Edge an Australian businessman and racing car driver in 1899 along with Harvey du Cros he formed the Motor Vehicle Company Ltd to sell cars made by Napier & Son of Lambeth, London.
Edge was sufficiently impressed to encourage Napier to make his own car, agreeing to buy the entire output, and in 1900 the first one appeared.
Napiers made the first ever production six cylinder car painted in olive green first described as wearing British racing green.
