Hamilton on Pole at British GP

The supremely talented 22-year-old from Tewin Lewis Hamilton claimed pole position for sunday British Grand Prix. The 22-year-old set the track alight to become the first British driver to take pole at Silverstone since Damon Hill in his title-winning year of 1996.

Coulthard, who on Friday agreed an extension to his contract for 2008 with Red Bull Racing, concedes Hamilton’s season has been “remarkable.” But the 36-year-old Scot also feels Hamilton has had “everything stacked in his favour.”

“He is just a man - a very talented man - taking the maximum out of his opportunity with very little experience, which is what is making his results remarkable. “But if I think back to my first full year with Williams, I had five pole positions in a row yet thought nothing of it because I thought ‘I’m quick, this is what I’m supposed to do’.
